Residential Care Homes

Particularly working with those suffering from Dementia or Alzheimers

This gentle sound healing service is thoughtfully designed for residents living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and related cognitive conditions.

Using soft, soothing tones from instruments such as Himalayan singing bowls,
chimes, the heartbeat rhythm of a hand-held frame drum, singing and calming vocal tones, the sessions aim to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and support emotional well-being.

Working intuitively with the residents, each session will be different, interactive, passive and sometimes on the body where possible. Encouraging connection, an uplifting of spirit and positive response.

Sound healing can evoke feelings of comfort, calmness, help stimulate memory and improve sleep.

Sessions are delivered with sensitivity, presence, and respect for each individuals pace and needs, offering a peaceful sensory experience within the familiar environment of the care home.

Sound Healing

Duration: tailored to specific needs, normally 45-60 minutes

Healing Through Voice

A unique aspect of my sound healing sessions is the intuitive use of my voice through vocal toning and gentle singing. These vocal frequencies are guided by intention and attuned to the energetic needs of the moment, helping to deepen the healing process. The human voice carries powerful resonance and emotion, often creating a more personal and transformative experience. Whether softly layered over instruments or used in stillness, the voice can help shift stagnant energy, support emotional release, and amplify the intentions set at the start of the session.

Testimonials

Reviews

“Jo has been to our care home, Westhill, several times now.
She comes to provide sound healing therapy for our residents suffering with dementia.
She leads groups to experience the rhythms and vibrations from many varied
instruments that she brings along. She also leads a guided meditation slot such as
walking in a rain forest.

Jo has a lovely calm demeanour and does not rush anything. She interacts very well
with each resident individually and as a group and everyone looks forward to when
she is coming.

She is professional and courteous, and the residents respond to her calmness, the
sounds extremely well. Residents become more responsive, calm, interactive and
are clearly soothed.”
